
Many of our from-scratch bakers wanted to make donuts out of SunFlour instead of using our Pancake & Waffle Mix.
Well, we can’t blame them. We are all in when it comes to finding more ways to get donuts out of the oven! This is the base donut recipe for our from-scratch and keto bakers. Dipping in chocolate is optional. You can also add into the batter anything you like–berries, nuts, chocolate chips–or just eat them plain!
Yield: 9 donuts (63g) *see macros below
Dry Ingredients
2½ cups SunFlour
1/3 cup Bocha Sweet (or your favorite low glycemic granulated sweetener)
1½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp fine sea salt
optional for double chocolate donuts: ¼ cup cocoa powder or your favorite keto chocolate chips
Wet Ingredients
1/3 cup sour cream or yogurt
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Dip Ingredients
2½ ounces dark chocolate chips (sugar free)
½ ounce cocoa butter
Directions
1) Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2) Combine dry ingredients.
3) Add wet ingredients and mix until blended.
4) Spray donut pans with oil and fill evenly with batter.
5) Optional: drop berries, chocolate chips or other add-ins into the batter once in the donut wells.
6) Bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
7) Let cool 10 minutes in pan. Remove to cooling rack. Dip in chocolate once cooled.
Instructions for Chocolate Dip
1) Put chocolate chips and cocoa butter in small sauce pan.
2) Heat on low, stirring until a chocolate liquid forms.
3) Dip half of biscotti in chocolate dip and place on parchment paper.
4) Freeze for 15 minutes to harden chocolate dip.
Options for Peppermint Chocolate Dip
1) Add 1 tsp peppermint extract to wet biscotti ingredients
2) Add ½ tsp peppermint extract to chocolate dip.
3) Break up candy cane and sprinkle on top of dipped end of donut
